Tanahat Monastery

Tanahat is an Armenian monastic complex in the Vayots Dzor Province, approximately 7 km southeast of the village of Vernashen, at the southern foothills of Mount Teksar. It is known as an early medieval religious complex mentioned since the 8th century and as a historical site associated with the monastic life of the region. The complex is located in a mountainous area near Yeghegnadzor and is also known by other names.
