Shengavit (metro station)
Shengavit is the only junction station of the Yerevan Metro, officially opened for passenger service on December 26, 1986. Located between the Gortsaranain and Garegin Nzhdeh Square stations, it also serves as a crucial transit hub connecting the main line with the branch line leading to the Charbakh station. Designed by architect Robert Ananyan, the station features a single-vault underground structure decorated with natural Armenian stone, where uniquely arranged light fixtures beneath the ceiling vault create a distinct sense of space. The station exits lead directly to Artur Karapetyan Street and the 9th Building complex in the Shengavit district, ensuring smooth and efficient commuter access to the surrounding residential and commercial zones.
