Vernissage

Yerevan Vernissage is the capital's most famous, colorful, and visited open-air exhibition-market, located in the heart of the city along Aram and Buzand streets, just a few steps away from Republic Square. This unique cultural hub emerged in the late 1980s through the initiative of local Armenian artists who initially displayed their artworks near the statue of Martiros Saryan, before the market eventually relocated to its current spacious park setting. Vernissage serves as a genuine treasure trove of Armenian folk art, craftsmanship, and creative talent, where every weekend hundreds of artisans, painters, designers, and antique collectors gather to showcase their works. Visitors can explore an incredible variety of authentic items, including hand-woven Armenian carpets, intricate wooden carvings (such as traditional backgammon and chess sets), handmade silver and stone jewelry, traditional costumes, ceramics, as well as rare Soviet memorabilia and antiques. For tourists and locals alike, it is not merely a premier destination for purchasing souvenirs, but a vibrant cultural experience where one can interact directly with the creators, feel the lively pulse of Yerevan, and take home a piece of Armenia's rich artistic heritage.
