Hovhannavank

Hovhannavank is a medieval Armenian monastery located in the village of Ohanavan in the Aragatsotn Province. It is situated on the edge of the Kasakh River gorge, near the right bank of the canyon, not far from Ashtarak. The complex is known for its ancient churches associated with the early Christian and medieval history of Armenia. It is one of the notable monastic sites in the vicinity of Ohanavan.
