Arshakid Kings Mausoleum and Basilica

The Arshakid Kings Mausoleum and Basilica is an early medieval burial complex in the center of the village of Aghtsk, in the Aragatsotn Province. It is situated by a gorge overlooking the Amberd River and is known as the site where the remains of Christian and pagan kings of the Arshakid dynasty were once stored. The complex includes a mausoleum and a basilica dating back to the 4th–5th centuries. It is one of the notable historical monuments in the vicinity of Ashtarak.
