Wild goat
Wild goats can reach a body length of 1.2 to 1.6 m, with a shoulder height of 0.7 to 1 m and a weight ranging from 25 to 95 kg. Males have silver-white fur in winter, while in summer their fur turns reddish. Both sexes have horns, but males have significantly larger ones that can reach 1.3 m in length. Wild goats inhabit mountainous areas, forests, and deserts, preferring hard-to-reach regions. In Armenia, they are found in the Zangezur Mountains, Khosrov State Reserve, and the highlands of Syunik Province. These goats live in small herds of 5-25 individuals and are primarily active during twilight hours. Wild goats are herbivorous, feeding on grasses, shrubs, and leaves. Mating occurs from August to December, and females give birth to one or two kids between January and May. Currently, wild goats are threatened due to poaching and habitat destruction.
