Hayk Nahapet

Hayk Nahapet is the legendary patriarch and founder of the Armenian nation. According to Armenian tradition, he defeated the Babylonian ruler Bel in the Battle of Hayots Dzor, traditionally dated to August 11, 2492 BCE. The date is associated with the beginning of the traditional Armenian calendar.
