Alexis Ohanian

Alexis Ohanian stands as one of the most influential figures in the global information technology sector, a prominent venture capitalist, and the co-founder of the social media platform Reddit, whose vision structurally reshaped modern internet culture and the global startup ecosystem. Born in the United States to a family descending from Armenian Genocide survivors, he has consistently championed his Armenian heritage and ethnic identity on the global stage. The defining milestone of his career occurred in 2005 with the launch of Reddit, which rapidly expanded into one of the world's most heavily trafficked and structurally significant open-source web platforms, frequently dubbed "the front page of the internet." After stepping down from Reddit's board, Ohanian founded Initialized Capital and later Seven Seven Six (776), positioning himself as an early-stage institutional investor in prominent technological unicorns like Instacart and Patreon. Beyond his commercial achievements, he is widely recognized for his philanthropy, advocacy for digital open-access rights, and pioneering investments in women's professional sports, while systematically maintaining strategic ties with Armenia to foster local tech talent and education.
